Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, from Casa da Oliveira Brava, is the result of the delicate and persistent cultivation of olive trees, with purely sustainable methods and in accordance with the rules of organic farming, handling and production. Organic olives are harvested by hand, with dedication, and cold pressed, producing quality organic olive oil with exceptional organoleptic characteristics. It has an acidity of 0.2% and a peroxide rate of around 6%.

Description

Oil of Superior category, obtained directly from the olive, solely by mechanical means. It is a fruity Extra Virgin olive oil, with a fresh and appetizing aroma. With a strong character for refined and demanding tastes. It has an acidity of 0.2% and a peroxide level of around 6%. It is an excellent olive oil.

Extraction and marketing

Only by mechanical cold extraction processes, extra virgin olive oil, of superior quality, is extracted. The oil is stored in stainless steel tanks in an inert environment at an optimum temperature in always filled vats. Casa da Oliveira Brava olive oil is marketed in dark glass packaging and transported and stored under heat and light, under appropriate thermal conditions to preserve its nutritional elements and guarantee quality, so that our knowledge, work and dedication arrives to the consumer with the intensity and excellence that we are obliged to.

Brief History

Olive growing is assumed to be an age-old tradition, very characteristic of our Mediterranean landscape and culture. It has always appeared for various uses and purposes, in food, medicine, cosmetics, religious rituals, among others, such as simple lighting by the lamp. Olive oil production has always been a family activity, at least 4 generations ago we had our own oil press for the extraction of oil. Where also, other farmers resorted to extracting their oil. Unfortunately, in the late 1960s, the oil press was destroyed by a storm followed by a water storm. At that time, a tibial and almost abandoned phase began for my family, at least in the form and dedication that until then was dedicated to olive growing, which only around 2013 experienced a turnaround. In 2013 I decided taking over only the family’s olive groves and, meanwhile, buying other olive groves, I started to outline a strategy for the launch of my family’s olive oil brand. With the help of friends, we created a logo and developed the entire graphic part of the brand. Meanwhile, on the ground, assisted by engineers, I started working to get the best oil that the Douro region could give. At the end of 3 years, the Casa da Oliveira Brava olive oil brand was finally launched on the market.

Casa da Oliveira Brava is dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees and the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from centenary olive groves, planted in the schist terraces of the Douro, taking advantage of the microclimate of the region. The culture of olive oil is assumed by Casa da Oliveira Brava as part of its culture, tradition and soul, which it values, preserves and preserves, with guarantee of purity, quality and excellence. From the olive groves of Casa da Oliveira Brava, where the Cobrançosa, Verdeal, Madural, Galega, Coimbrã/Coimbreira and Moleirinha qualities predominate, among others, the olives are harvested manually, with the right degree of maturity, with the maximum of care, to guarantee its good condition.
